Camouflage
 4.
The Euphilotes pallescens caterpillars are well concealed on the buds and flowers of the host plant.  The color of the markings are variable.

Symbiosis
 5., 6.
As with many blues (Polyommatinae), Euphilotes pallescens caterpillars have a symbiotic relationship with ants. The caterpillars secrete a sugary substance that is consumed by ants who in return provide some protection from predators.
