These normally hibernate as first instar but were coaxed into feeding on pansies by keeping them on fresh pansy leaves under lights 24x7.

Caterpillars fed from 29 to 33 days.  From  6th instar to form a "J" took from 7 to 10 days.  The pupa took from 12 days 15 hours to 12 days and 18 hours.
