Characteristics
- Small,
1 1/4
to 1 1/2 inches.
- Dancers
have hair on their legs that is longer
than the space between the hairs
- They
like to land on horizontal
surfaces rather than foliage
- Vivid
blue with wide, dark, dorsal
stripe on the upper thorax
- On
the sides of the thorax they have black
stripes pinched in the middle
- The
middle segments of the abdomen have
backward pointing arrows on the sides
- Segments
eight, nine and ten are
all blue
- Females
are tan, and patterned like males
