 Characteristics
Wingspan - 3 5/8 inches. The head including eyes,  thorax, abdomen, legs, appendages and the stigma are  orangish red,  Wings  are orangish red  just past the nodus  and also along the leading edge to the tip of  both the forewing and the hindwing. Immatures are a paler orangish red.
