Characteristics
  • Blue Eyes
  • Thorax may be pruinose pale blue
  • All segments dark green sheen except on male the first two and last two or three segments become pruinose
  • Lower appendages are long and straight (may hold them in a V)
  • Females have two and males have four appendages
  • stigma is black
  • Legs black with bluish stripes
  • female doesn't become pruinose
  • found in streams and weedy ponds
  • Flies from April to November
