Description
Height up to 2 feet, occurs in sagebrush to spruce and fir areas from 6000 to 8500 feet.  
It has four purplish sepals covered with hair on the outside.  
Leaves are opposite and divided pinnately.
 It isn't a vine like other clematis. 
Blooms appear from early June to the end of July
