Characteristics:
syn. thornapple
Size: 3/4 to 5 feet tall.  Flower:  3 1/2 to 5 inch long, lavender flowers are trumpet-shaped. In the variety stramonium the flowers are white.
  Blooms: June to September.  Leaves:  large, alternate, unevenly toothed or lobed.  Fruit: seed pod is 2 inches long and covered with prickles. The whole plant is toxic.
