On August 15, 2006, Todd Stout collected this last instar larva ( which was on a Lupine plant)  at West Bountiful Peak, Davis County, Utah.   Pupa was formed August 24, 2007 and was placed in summer conditions for 30 days, then winter conditions for 120 days (until February 04, 2007) then spring conditions.  Pupa did not develop at this time and was again placed in winter conditions from March 15, 2007 until August 29, 2007. Then the pupa was placed in spring conditions which was 24x7 light and daily spritzing with distilled water.  The adult butterfly eclosed  2:03 P.M. September 24, 2007.
