| PHOTO DETAILS - ©Nicky Davis LOCATION: Ken Hansen located female 19 June 2011 on host Castilleja sp., 14.3 miles North of Junction of Highway 20 and Highway 1, Mendocino County, California. Type locality GPS: Unknown ELEVATION: unknown PHOTOS: Third Instar - 5 May 2012 Fourth Instar - Lateral and dorsal on 13 May 2012 LIFE HISTORY: Ovum: Unknown Larva: Spent twenty-two days after hibernation as larvae. Overwintered as third instars. Took out of hibernation 5 May 2012 - Reared using only 10-11 hours of light and kept as cool as possible (60 degrees in my basement at night for 13-14 hours) to try to keep them from rediapausing Molted to Fourth Instar on 13 May 2012 Molted to Fifth Instar on 17 May 2012 ? Pupa: Nine days as pupa - #1 formed pupa 27 May 2012 and adult emerged 5 June 2012 Adult: unknown Broods: one Hibernation: Overwinter as larvae Host Plant - Used Penstemon cyananthus to rear larvae Back to Top |
