Grass-of-Parnassus
This perennial
plant has just one 5 to 12 inch tall stem with a solitary white
flower whichcan be up to 1 inch across. These particular group was just
1/2 inch across. 5 white fertile stamen alternate
with 5 yellow sterile stamen. Petals are fringed on each side of
the base. Grows by streams, ponds, bogs from 8500 feet up and
blooms from July to September.
